The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced that all international students holding a study permit for programs scheduled to start this May or June 2020 can now begin their program online from outside Canada and complete up to 50% of it from outside Canada.
The best part, your time for taking up your online program will be counted towards Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWP) eligibility.
Due to the ongoing travel restrictions imposed and health threat caused by COVID-19 pandemic, the government of Canada has implemented the above abovementioned adjustments for student visa holders.

This news will surely uplift all student visa holders as well as applicants.
Earlier, it has exempted international students who have valid study permits or were approved for study permits on or before March 18, 2020 from the travel restrictions.
They would just need to pass a health check conducted by airlines before they’re allowed to board their flights. Anyone who shows symptoms of COVID-19 will not be allowed to enter Canada by air. When they arrive in Canada, they will ho through a health assessment and will be put into a mandatory 14-days isolation.
A lot of people are choosing to study in Canada because of the vast corporate opportunity that awaits graduates of their programs. Apart from that, it is also one of the best pathways to become a permanent resident in Canada.
Among the benefits of being a permanent resident of Canada are free medical insurance, free education for children (18 years old and below), and the benefit of having social security and age pension plan. Permanent residents are also entitled to own properties and start businesses within Canada.
