Canada Express Entry - invited 41,800 candidates to apply for permanent residence

The first half of 2019 was one of the busiest since the introduction of the Express Entry system in 2015. A total of 41,800 invitations was issued to apply for permanent residence, after the Immigration, Refugees, Citizenship Canada had held 13 draws over the first 6 months.

The Express Entry System is the primary source of Canada's skilled foreign workers. Federal High Skilled Immigration Program - Federal Skilled Worker class - Federal Skilled Trades Class - Canadian Experience Class

Under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) each candidate will be rank. CRS awards point for factors: - age - education - skilled work experience - proficiency in English or French

In 2018 a total of 92,000 Express Entry candidates and their families were granted permanent residency. An increase of 41% over 2017 permanent residence thru Express Entry System. In 2021 they are expecting to achieve the target of 160,100 new permanent residences under Canada's multi-year immigration levels plan.
